Golden Gabi: 5 things we learned as Arsenal beat Leicester City 4-2

4 – Arsenal fans want Tielemans

If fan approval is anything to go by then Arsenal would’ve signed Youri Tielemans weeks ago, regardless of what the deal will cost the club.

The truth is the Beligian midfielder probably got a better reception from the Arsenal fans than his own travelling away supporters, who have now accepted he may leave.

Tielemans has just one year left on his contract at Leicester City and having been linked throughout the summer, it appears Edu is playing it cool.

Arsenal fans were in full voice as they repeatedly rang out the chant ‘Youri Tielemans, we’ll see you next week’ – an indication perhaps to Edu to go and get this man.

We’ve seen in the last week what impression fan involvement can have on signings after Man United pulled out of a move for Marko Arnautovic due to the severe backlash.

And on a day where I’ve not seen the Emirates atmosphere better for a long while, this was most certainly confirmation of where Arsenal fans want business to happen next.

I think Arsenal will play it cool on this one, knowing that the player wants the move it will more be a case of waiting it out to drive down the transfer fee to as low as possible.
