2. Edinson Cavani
If Benzema is not viable, then perhaps Arsene Wenger will try his luck for Edinson Cavani. After investing a lot of money in Angel di Maria, PSG may have to sell someone to balance their books due to FFP regulations. There has been a lot of talk in France that suggests Cavani may be Arsenal’s first alternative to Benzema, if Madrid refuse to sell. Cavani is also 28, but it is unlikely that PSG would ask for £60million for him. I’m not Cavani’s biggest fan, but there is no doubt that he is one of the most consistent goalscorers in Europe, having been at a top level for more than 5 years. He’s a world class player and signing him would obviously be a positive move for the club. At the moment, I think Sergio Aguero is the difference in the title race, we need to find our own main man – and Cavani or Benzema could be the one. I think Manchester United will be on the lookout for a forward too, so we mustn’t hesitate in our pursuit.
