David Moyes is looking to bring Joel Campbell to Real Sociedad this summer, according to Marca. Sociedad were one of a number of clubs interested in loaning Campbell at the start of the season, but now they appear to be keen on a permanent deal with The Gunners believed to be asking for £10million for the versatile forward.

Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011 but his career at the club appears to have been cut short after huge hype surrounded the youngster. There is no doubt that Campbell has a lot of talent, but the Costa Rican didn’t look the right fit in his brief appearances at the start of the season. If we raise £8million or more, as it looks like we will – he would have still proved a good investment.

I am sure that Campbell will go on to have a good career at a good level, but I don’t think he has the technical ability to ever make it at Arsenal, and I think Arsene Wenger knows that.

Wenger has now turned his attentions to adding a top class forward this summer, with Podolski and Campbell set to leave the club on a permanent basis.

Arsenal are believed to have enquired about Gonzalo Higuain, with a €40million bid mooted. The Gunners are also keeping tabs on Karim Benzema and Alexandre Lacazette as both players could be on the market this summer.
