Not Balotelli: Three Strikers Arsenal Could Sign

3. Edin Dzeko

Edin Dzeko’s Premier league career has mostly been spent on the Manchester city bench; this is mainly down to the Manchester club having a large variety of attacking talent in their squad but also because of a bad relationship that had formed with the former Manchester city manager Roberto Mancini. Although his time in England has been a bit stop and start, the Bosnian has still managed to score 46 goals in 108 appearances, which is very impressive considering most of his appearances have been of the bench.

The striker had a good start to the 2013/2014 season; however he still remains on the fringes of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans and I believe that if Arsenal were seriously interested in signing him, they could easily meet his wage demand and the transfer fee, which is estimated around £15-£20 million. Dzeko is a clinical finisher and can provide real quality to Arsenal front line; he also has a knack of coming off the bench to score vital goals, which is always a bonus when you are in need of a crucial goal at a crucial time. He links up with other attacking players well and can assist as well as score goals which is also important.

By signing a player from one of our main rivals would also send out a message to teams around the world and in the premier league and can also motivate the player to succeed even more against top quality opposition.
