Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy is set to join Arsenal imminently according to a report in France. A fee has not been mentioned, but it is likely he will cost in the region of £8million.
Debuchy is currently representing France at the World Cup, and is the sides first choice right back ahead of Bacary Sagna. The full back turns 29 later this month and will offer the club international experience in his 23 caps for France. Reliable French media outlet infosport+ reported this afternoon:

Opting for Debuchy over Aurier indicates Arsene Wenger’s desire to add an experienced right-back, with youthful options Carl Jenkinson and Hector Bellerin already emerging from the club. Both players have the potential to play at the top level for the Gunners, but are not ready quite yet. Debuchy’s addition could see him take the first team slot for the next few seasons and then allow Bellerin and Jenkinson to battle to succeed him.
