4. Samuel Eto’o
Arsenal’s need for a striker is well known, and some outlets have reported Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in two new attacking options in the transfer window. One would be a more expensive, stellar name, while the other would be a more cost effective option to provide cover when needed. Samuel Eto’o would fill this role perfectly. The Cameroon international has achieved almost everything in European football, boasting 3 Champions League winners medals and 4 league titles during spells at Barcelona and Inter Milan, and had a decent season at Chelsea last year – scoring 12 goals. Whilst not being a massive total, it is 12 more goals than Yaya Sanogo scored last season, and I believe Eto’o would be an effective second-choice striker for us. Last season he scored against ourselves, Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as bagging a hat-trick against Manchester United, and so is a player who is capable of producing in the big games – something we have of course lacked in recent seasons.
