1. Jeremy Menez
Despite reports that Jeremy Menez looks set to join AC Milan, he remains a free agent at the time of writing and could prove to be an astute acquisition should Arsenal swoop in for him. The Frenchman is a versatile forward player, who is comfortable on both flanks and can even be used a ‘number 10’, and at 27-years old still has his best few years ahead of him. The lack of squad depth has been a widespread criticism of Arsenal this season, with the lack of creativity in the side in the absences of key players a major cause for the failure to stay in the title race until the very end; and Menez would offer us an alternative option on the flanks. He could also prove to be a useful substitute, as there has been occasions during injury-plagued periods where our bench has looked relatively thin, and a player like Menez would strengthen the squad, no doubt. The Club have been linked with a move for Carlos Vela, in order to provide a cheap, additional attacking option, but Menez to me would seem a far better candidate for such a role in the squad, and would be even cheaper than Vela’s £3million buy-back price.
