Two World Cup Stars To Complete Arsenal Transfers Next Week

Two of Arsenal’s forwards could complete moves away from the club as early as next week.

Yesterday we brought you the news that the surprise package of the World Cup, Joel Campbell was closing in on a move to Fenerbache. Now it seems World Cup winner Lukas Podolski is closing in on a move to another Turkish side in the form of Galatasaray.

The Podolski news comes from SportMediaSet in Italy who seem pretty certain that a deal will be done between the two clubs. There is no fee mentioned but Arsenal had hoped to raise £8million for the German.

Selling the duo is likely to raise in the region of £15million. We would also clear over £100,000 per week from the wage bill, giving us a nice cash injection ahead of the summer. We all know Arsene Wenger likes to sell before he buys, so hopefully these early sales will encourage progress to be made on incomings.

With regards to the Campbell deal, a transfer also seems close to completion. Turkish source Hurriyet suggest a deal is ‘on the verge’ of being complete.

Personally I am not too bothered about selling either player, in fact I am quite happy that we look like we will be selling the pair permanently, freeing up funds for us to buy players of a higher quality. The likes of Marco Reus and Raheem Sterling have been linked, and they both excite me a lot more than Campbell or Podolski.

I will be very grateful for Podolski’s contribution whilst at the club, he scored some great goals and truly loved Arsenal and the fans. I hope Campbell can have a successful career elsewhere but I do not believe he has what it takes to succeed at Arsenal.

Would you be happy to see Campbell and Podolski leave? Or do they deserve more time? What Arsenal transfers do you want to be completed this summer? Have your say by commenting below.
