2 – Shkodran Mustafi
Arsenal know they can sign Mustafi this summer if they pay a fairly reasonable asking price. It is thought that Valencia would accept around £20million for the German defender as they look to balance their books ahead of the new season.
Some reports suggest Arsenal have already opened talks with Mustafi and his representatives, although personally I am somewhat sceptical about the links. Arsene said he wants to sign an experienced defender to replace Mertesacker and although Mustafi has international experience, he’s only 24 and hasn’t yet matured into a completely reliable defender. I think Wenger may look closer to home at someone like Ashley Williams or Jose Fonte, both of whom are thought to be available for the right price this summer.
