Morgan Schneiderlin
The French international midfielder has been a long-term target of ours for a while now, with the long-serving Southampton player himself defining his future at the club dependent on European football next season.
Schneiderlin has already proven his quality in the Premier League, having already helped Ronald Koeman’s team to their highest league points tally so far of 57, since the club’s promotion 3 years ago.
A reported fee of around £20-25m would be enough to lure the Frenchman to the Emirates, but we would face some competition from bitter North London rivals Tottenham for his services, with former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino knowing the player well.
However, the prospect of working under fellow Frenchman Arsene Wenger and playing in Europe’s elite club football competition would be too good to turn down.
Many would have Schneiderlin as number one choice to add more steel to Arsenal’s midfield, with Francis Coquelin already establishing himself well in the team. It wouldn’t hurt to upgrade on the ageing likes of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta.
