Gabriel Paulista
Signed from Villarreal back in January in exchange for Joel Campbell, you could definitely say the manager has already bought the centre-back addition many were desperately calling for all season.
Gabriel, who earned himself his very first international call-up to the Brazilian team in March, has shown signs of a very talented and Koscielny-esc defender, just in the handful of games he’s played in. But he’s seen game time rather hard to come by, with the manager favouring the experience of Mertesacker ahead of him.
His addition to the squad will almost certain mean that none other will come in, with Wenger recently declaring his defensive unit as ‘good enough’ to compete next season. With the Brazilian at our ranks, the manager may have a case, even though we’re yet to see a full season of Gabriel’s ability.
