A Turning Point! 3 Things We Learned From Manchester City Victory

That Game Determines Our Season

There is no excuse now from Wenger. He has shown in the last 5 games that this Arsenal side are really coming together. A tricky loss at Southampton was the turning point, and Stoke and Manchester City has been the best I’ve seen us play all season.

With the return of Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck to come, it seems our attacking options are only going to get better. Squad depth will be key in this run-in of games now, as we really have a strong chance of making the next stage of Champions League football.

Arsenal players can look at this victory as a performance to say they know they can play well enough. To come away from the current Champions with a clean sheet and all the points is as good as it gets in the Premier League, so there is no reason to be falling flat now. If we can carry that momentum in the Champions League I genuinely feel there is not a team we can’t beat.

However, it is now down to Wenger to deliver on his hints of new signings coming through the door. With Debuchy out for the rest of the season, cover is needed in both centre back and right-back, so Chambers will most likely cement his place in the right full-back slot.

That means we ideally need cover at centre back and maybe a loan signing for the centre defensive midfield. Somebody like Kim Kallstrom worked last year, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wenger utilising that in the coming weeks.
