According to reports released from David Ornstein earlier on Monday, the Gunners are going all in for Pedro Neto and have made the Wolves player their priority target.

Since then we have had a new report from The Sun’s Sports Editor, Daniel Cutts, who has stated that Arsenal may have to be up to £50m to land the 22-year-old.

According to Cutts, the Gunners are eyeing a deal more in the region of £35m but Wolves may be unwilling to loosen their demands given their is no desire to lose him.

However, with Neto having already publicly stated he’s been a fan of Arsenal since he was a youngster, the winger could be an important part to how this plays out.

Neto wanting the move puts Arsenal in a good position to negotiate a smaller fee, and the promise of Europa League football and challenge for Champions League is something Wolves are unable to offer.

We know that Arsenal were exploring a move for Raphinha not too long ago which was reported to have lodged a £55m bid that was rejected by Leeds United.

Arsenal have the money in the bank but have already shown they are reluctant to spend more than they think the player is worth, having walked away from the Raphinha deal.

This one could well go down to the wire but with Wolves now in talks to sign Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, it could be the latest development that suggests a Neto departure isn’t completely off the cards.

Neto has a hefty contract that runs until 2027, meaning Arsenal will have to pay a substantial fee if they want to sign someone to compete with Bukayo Saka.
