It seems as if Arsenal’s game against Hull is the last thing being talked about in the media this week, with so much focus on Wenger’s future.
The Gunners boss has once again signalled his intent to focus on one game at a time, whilst ensuring his side aren’t out of the title race just yet.
But with 12 points to catch up on and a squad that’s lacking confidence, his hopes of making this a title winning season are fading faster by the day.
It’ll be a gloomy day in North London on Saturday lunchtime, with over 10,000 season ticket holders reportedly set to boycott the game due to Wenger’s position.
However, with Mohamed Elneny and Hector Bellerin likely to return to action, there’s at least some hope that Arsenal can grind out a positive result.
Arsenal Team News
Mohamed Elneny has been declared fit to feature in this one, and his defensive capabilities will be welcomed back into a side that has to depend on Francis Coquelin.
Hector Bellerin has carried out all of the necessary measures having suffered a minor concussion last weekend, he’ll likely be rested having trained just once.
Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka will serve the final game of his four match suspension, he’ll be itching to get back out and show the supporters what we’ve been missing.
Aaron Ramsey remains on the sidelines having picked up yet another injury this season, meaning we’re likely to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain through the middle again.
Arsenal Absentees: S. Cazorla (ankle), A. Ramsey (calf), H. Bellerin (doubt)
Predicted Line-Up: Cech, Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Elneny, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi, Alexis
Hull City Team News
Believe it or not, Arsenal are now the fourth consecutive team in the top six Hull have had to face in their last few games in the Premier League.
And despite taking four points from a possible nine, things just got a whole lot harder for Marco Silva to jump out of the relegation zone this weekend.
The Tigers will be without their captain Michael Dawson and key man in front of goal, Abel Hernandez after they both picked up serious injuries last week.
FA Cup final goalscorer Curtis Davies will have to sit this one out too, meaning there will be some significant changes at the back with Alex Bruce also missing.
Long-term absentees Will Keane and Ryan Mason will be missed in an attacking sense, but Hull have new signing Lazar Markovic to deploy on the flanks.
Hull City Absentees: Hernandez, Mason, Dawson, Keane, Bruce, Davies, Henriksen, Lenihan, Luer, Odubajo
Predicted Line-Up: Jakupovic, Elabdellaoui, Maguire, Ranocchia, Robertson, Grosicki, Huddlestone, Ndiyae, Clucas, Evandro, Niasse
