He’s The Best We’ve Got: 3 Things We Learnt About Arsenal vs. Hull

Arsenal comfortably strode into round 4 of the FA Cup after a 2-0 victory over Hull City on Sunday evening. In a repeat of last years dramatic final the Tigers looked a shadow of themselves going forward and were powerless to resist Arsene Wenger’s side.

Here I review three major things we learnt from the 2-0 victory.

1. David Ospina should be given a run in the side as n0.1

Wojciech Szczesny’s performance at Southampton was dismal to say the least. I rate the Pole, he has a big future at the club and will eventually become the undisputed no.1. However, in recent matches he has  been rather naive and looks far too comfortable in the position he finds himself in. You always feel a mistake is the round the corner when he plays and this needs to be ironed out of his game. Against Hull (and whilst he didn’t have a lot to do) David Ospina looked very composed and commanded his box well. At the recent World Cup he was excellent, and now he has returned from injury I would like to see him remain in the team. Some doubts would remain over his height and physicality, and it’ll be interesting to see how he fares. Despite this, he keeps the game simple and I feel at ease when watching him. Hopefully he can prove his worth over the coming games.
