The year of 2014 for Arsenal has seen an imminent change in ambition. Ending a drought of 9 years in search of silverware, the longevity of failure is over. The majestic club have gone about their footballing style in the profound way that all supporters worship, providing cheers for many of the on-watching Gooners. 2014 has also been the year of criticism, hatred and a lack of patience and faith – an unfortunate array of words to describe the Arsenal faithful. All we know, is these words can’t surely affect the acts of brilliance witnessed in such a pivotal year for Arsenal Football Club. 100 goals in total, here’s the top three.

3 – Alexis Sanchez vs Manchester City (13th September)

The arrival of the little Chilean saw one further step into the depths that we should be aiming for. £35 million paid, £35 million already paid off. The sensation that one player has brought to a single club speaks volumes about his ability, and a key highlight so far was his wonder strike against the Blue Moon. A tenacious performance saw Arsenal turn things around in style in the second half after a slow start. Wilshere levelled us up exquisitely before Alexis drove us into the lead. As Kompany headed clear, it was met by the head of previous goalscorer Wilshere as the Englishman shunted a header back into the penalty box. City failed to clear their lines, and a poor offside trap was deployed. Falling onto Alexis Sanchez right boot, a side-footed volley left Hart motionless as the ball struck the top corner in a flash. Alexis wheeled off in jubilation, shirt off and on his knees in front of the crowd. Passion exerted, we saw a first glimpse of what was yet to come from our own, little magician.
