5. Juan Mata
Remember? Before he moved to Chelsea all Arsenal fans will remember that Mata was so close to signing for the Gunners. Maybe he wished he did now, but how on earth did Arsenal let this one slip? Arsenal had reportedly agreed a £15million fee with Valencia to sign the Spaniard but he chose to join London rivals Chelsea at the last minute. Perhaps because of some dithering from Arsene Wenger again? We won’t comment on speculation of course. Whilst this was gutting at the time, on reflection and comparing this situation to the others in this article – missing out on Mata was not as gutting as it may have seemed at first. After all we did end up with Cazorla and Ozil – we can’t really complain. Gutted rating: 7/10
