3 Reasons Why Debuchy Is A Better Signing Than Aurier

3. Debuchy is France’s first choice

There’s also the recent development, where Debuchy has amusingly kept Sagna out of the French first team. A sign of the trust and preference the manager has in Debuchy over the even more experienced Sagna. Could this be because Sagna will likely now be playing second fiddle at Manchester City? No matter, it bodes well for Arsenal, and Debuchy, if Arsenal really are interested and a deal has been agreed, as reported. It’s also a sign of Debuchy’s quality, if he’s keeping out the likes of Sagna who’s played on every stage in football. Admittedly, I haven’t seen much of Debuchy, and not paid attention to him when playing for Newcastle, so I can’t vouch for his quality, only basing it on his rise in the French team – and the fact that Wenger’s keen, which should be enough evidence for any transfer.

There’s a strong report that Debuchy will sign for Arsenal after the World Cup, which if true, would be an excellent signing. As stated in this post: he’s Premier League ready, keeping his predecessor out of the French national team, and his arrival does not seriously impact the development of Jenkinson and Bellerin, of which lies Arsenal’s future.
