Four Strikers Arsenal Could Sign In The January Transfer Window

With Mohamed Elneny set to join Arsenal, Arsene Wenger appears to now be turning his attention to strengthening his attacking force.

The Gunners have struggled to name a senior attacker on the bench over the festive period and with Danny Welbeck’s latest injury set back, Arsenal would be wise to invest in another forward this month. Here are four realistic solutions.

1 – Simone Zaza

The Juventus striker is barely managing to get a kick in Italy at the moment, and a loan move may appeal to both parties. Tall and strong, Zaza would suit Arsenal’s system and be able to play as a lone front man comfortably, if required. Despite an impressive two years at Sassuolo, he has failed to make his mark at Juventus, with the likes of Alvaro Morata, Paolo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic ahead of him in the pecking order.

Unlike many of Arsenal’s other targets, Zaza is a very attainable target, particularly on a loan deal. From what I’ve seen of him, I wouldn’t consider Zaza a better player than Giroud, but I would say he’d be a decent rotation option, or impact sub when the French striker is not on form. At 24, he still has room to improve – so a loan deal with a potential buy option might be a good idea for The Gunners.
