Arsenal were not at their brilliant best on Tuesday night, but one man who did show moments of brilliance was once again Mesut Ozil. The German had scored three in three previous to this game, and assisted both of the Gunners goals against Leicester on Tuesday night. Without Ozil, I doubt Arsenal would have escaped with the three points.
He is starting to show the world that he is a world class player again, with some glorious attacking passes and precise finishing since he returned from injury. His performance level did, no doubt fade in the second half but the German can be forgiven after helping Arsenal win the game in the first half. And in truth, most of the Arsenal players were awful in the second half, the momentum shifted and we couldn’t handle it. Ozil would have had three assists if Theo Walcott was able to finish a one on one with Mark Schwarzer.
Mesut Ozil is on fire. Been absolute class so far.
