3 – Daniel Ballard (signed for Sunderland)
In a transfer that took a few twists and turns in the space of just a few days, Arsenal have now confirmed the departure of Daniel Ballard.
The 22-year-old was close to agreeing a deal to sign with Vincent Kompany’s Burnley, but despite a medical on the horizon, the deal broke down due to issues around personal terms.
Ballard had an incredible loan spell at Milwall last season making 32 appearances which didn’t go unnoticed by many other clubs in the EFL.
And following admiration from Black Cats boss, Alex Neil, the Northern Irishman will be playing Championship football at the Stadium of Light for the foreseeable future.
Ballard failed to make a single senior appearance for Arsenal and it’s believed that the combination of first team centre back’s and Ballards desire to play regularly is what pushed this deal to completion.
