Mikel Arteta and Edu have been working tirelessly alongside the rest of their team to sort incomings and outgoings as they prepare for a season back in European football.

The number one target for the Gunners will once again be securing a spot in the Champions League, whether that comes from their finish in the Premier League or by winning the Europa League.

All of the above, plus the added stress of a World Cup halfway through the season means it’ll be a jam packed schedule for Arsenal, leaving Arteta to trim his squad to perfection ahead of August 5th where they’ll kick off the Premier League campaign away to Crystal Palace.

And whilst we’ve all been focusing on the announcement of Gabriel Jesus which finally came on Monday morning, you’ll be forgiven in missing some of the key transfer activity that’s been happening elsewhere at the club.

We’ve summarised everything you need to know below:

1 – Gabriel Jesus (signed from Manchester City)

For well over a month this has been the transfer mentioned in every other sentence whenever a conversation about Arsenal is had.

But after weeks of grafting, Arteta managed to bag his number one priority target who will take the number nine shirt from the recently departed Alex Lacazette.

Man City will pocket £45m for the Brazilian who at the age of 25 still has his best years ahead of him whilst also looking to secure a starting spot in this years World Cup.

It’s a transfer that says a lot about the clubs direction, with Arteta clearly looking to build a core of a team that can last well into the next five seasons.

We’re likely to see Gabi join up with his new Arsenal teammates later this week as the squad travel to FC Nurnberg for their first official game of pre-season.
