Also heading out of the exit door for the season is the Under-21’s captain, who will find himself at Spanish second division side RCD Mallorca.
The move is the perfect opportunity to head back to his hometown to play football for the first team, and at just 19 years old he’ll want to learn everything he can.
It may not be La Liga, but Spanish football has a high resemblance to the way Arsene Wenger likes to play and you can see him coming into contention for a spot on future pre-season tours.
Fitting into the first team as a centre back who has come from the academy is incredibly hard at any club, but when you’re Arsenal experience is needed and Pleguezuelo’s chances are slim.
He’ll gain a lot of experience back in Spain, so let’s hope he can bring that back to the newly named Under-23 squad who will feature in the Premier League Division 2 this season.
