Three Youngsters Arsenal Should Give A Chance To This Season

3. Gedion Zelalem

The young German central midfielder has been on the cusp of the first-team for a season or two and but for injury problems he may have made his debutĀ a lot earlier. Early last January Zelalem finally made his long-awaited first start,Ā and in the process became the first player to make his debut for the Arsenal side, when being born after Wenger took over at the club.

The youngster has a great calmness on the ball and also possesses a fantastic awareness of wheat’s going on around him. The 17 year-old also has brilliant vision, with a wide range of passing ability, making him look a lot more mature on the ball than what his age would suggest.

Regular first-team actionĀ won’t be on the cards next year, however though I would expect to see Zelalem play regularly in the League Cup and possibly on the odd occasion in the Champions League and FA Cup. Zelalem has a bright future ahead and is highly thought of at the club. Hopefully he can continue to develop, starting with a bit more game time next season.
