2. Morgan Schneiderlin
At 24, he is THE perfect defensive midfielder for Arsenal in my eyes. The French international represents a Premier League proven midfielder entering the prime years of his career. He has a good presence and range of passing while his defending ability is extremely impressive. A total defense score of 7.61 per 90 minutes is better than other reported targets Lars Bender, Sami Khedira, Luiz Gustavo and our own Mikel Arteta [via Squawka]. He has the ability to play as the box to box midfielder and therefore provides cover – although with Ramsey, Wilshere and Chamberlain all vying for that position it is unlikely he’ll be called upon. I feel Schneiderlin has the ability to hold our midfield and his addition would allow the likes of Ozil and Cazorla more freedom to do what they do best. Arsene has not yet replaced Gilberto Silva and Morgan Schneiderlin could be the answer.
