3. Alan Hutton
As a full back he’s not a player you would expect to see in a ‘players to watch’ article, but Hutton has really turned his career at Villa around. After being expected to leave at the end of last season, Hutton has patched things up with Lambert and has put in some great performances this season.
Villa have kept three clean sheets from their four games (Newcastle, Stoke and Liverpool), conceding just one all season in the 2-1 win against Hulll.
Hutton’s been key to the defensive solidity, proved by his man-of-the-match performance against Newcastle.
Look out for him to be strong in the tackle, while offering a good attacking option down the right.
