The Thierry Henry Effect?

So Thierry Henry made his debut as a Sky pundit, the same day we faced, and defeated City. A change in tactics. A change in our season? Possibly. Man City managing to sell out of tickets. That doesn’t happen too often. Consolation prize for Citeh.

It got me thinking about this “Henry Effect”. Whenever him and the team are in the same place, great things just happen. That Rugby scum also known as Stoke the weekend before, chilling in the box seats with another legend in Robert Pires. 3-0. Clean sheet.

He’s looking more and more like a Good luck charm. God’s sent gift. Whatever way you want to call it Theirry Henry is just ‘Dat guy’ (Sorry Welbz). His return in 2012 revived our season. His goal against Leeds set North London alight. Sensational moments. Inspiration on and off the pitch. Was there in the 5pur2 game. Another lovely day.

Fulham 2014, Marseille 2013. Both ended 2-0. He’s not directly influencing the team, that’s Wenger’s job. We didn’t beat Everton when he was around, but you still get a bit of a feeling that a win is on the horizon when The King is in town. If you’re a player you don’t want to disappoint in front a legend, someone you want to aspire to be as good as. Not that you should try any less in other games.

I don’t know about you but I’m quite looking forward to seeing him in the Sky studio, anywhere near where Arsenal are playing their matches, having training or in the transfer negotiations. More positive omen the better.
