After the Summer transfer window closed, we were left without the “World Class” striker the fans were crying out for. Targets such as Diego Costa and Loic Remy were snapped up by Chelsea, and Wilfred Bony has now completed a move to Manchester City.
It was fair to say that the fans were angry at this lack of buying, as Olivier Giroud became injured in the 2-2 away draw against Everton at the start of the season. But Olivier has come back a different player, and could arguably be the most inform striker in the Premier League, and here are stats that are proving this :
Olivier Giroud
Goals : 16
Assists : 3
Minutes Played : 1405
Diego Costa
Goals : 19
Assists : 3
Minutes Played : 2381
Loic Remy (All Competitions)
Goals : 7
Assists : 0
Minutes Played : 699
Wilfried Bony
Goals : 10
Assists : 2
Minutes Played : 2250
Sergio Aguero (All Competitions)
Goals : 24
Assists : 7
Minutes Played : 2468
Harry Kane
Goals : 19
Assists : 3
Minutes Played : 2430
Excluding Europa League (Because Arsenal weren’t in it and so it would be unfair to make a comparison), Giroud seems to have the best stats of the strikers in the Premier League. He honestly is the man in form and I genuinely think we do not need to buy a ST or CF this summer.
