A reliable source has informed Fresh Arsenal that the club are not currently pursuing a deal for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
The Gunners are however in talks to sign an unnamed central defender and striker. Morata has been scouted but is not the primary target for Arsenal and the Gunners are only likely to move for the Spaniard should their main targets become unattainable and/or should Morata’s asking price fall from the £45million that is being reported – Arsenal have no interest in him at that price.
Although no name has been given to us, you could speculate that £45million (the asking price for Morata) would be almost enough to sign a player like Patrick-Pierre Aubameyang or Robert Lewandowski, should the players be willing to move of course. Like Victor Wanyama was a decoy for Granit Xhaka, Morata may also be acting as a player to throw the scent away from Arsenal’s main target.
Let’s take encouragement from the fact that Arsenal are in talks to sign a striker and hopefully that deal can go under the radar and surprise us all!
