Rob Holding: 5 Things You Need To Know About Arsenal’s Latest Signing

Arsenal are on the verge of completing a deal to bring Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding to the club this summer, but you may be wondering who he is.

After completing a medical late on Monday night earlier this week, the 21-year-old is set to tie down a deal that will reach around £2m once completed in the coming days.

Although it might not be the household name signing that some of us were hoping for so early in the transfer window, it does provide some extra detail on how the club’s summer may pan out.

Whether or not Calum Chambers spot is in danger this season is one point to make, with the opportunity to send either out on loan being an attractive option for Arsene Wenger.

It seems like yesterday that Sam Allardyce was leading the Greater Manchester side to Premier League survival, but things will be very different at the Macron Stadium next year.

After finishing rock bottom of the league with just five victories, Bolton have slipped into League One which has inevitably left them powerless to losing their star man.

Nobody would’ve predicted Holding to do so well this season have made just a handful of appearances for the first team, but he showed he can step up to the plate and deliver.

Despite the mood at Bolton being less than positive, Holding remained mature and professional throughout his time at centre back, acting as a leader despite his young age.

A voice was needed when things were low and even though results weren’t going their way, Bolton could put their faith in their rising star to put in 110% week after week.
