Arsenal have a timeline in mind to officially unveil their fifth signing of the summer after securing the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Reports from multiple reliable journalists have confirmed the deal is done which will see Arsenal pay £30m + £2m in add-ons to Manchester City for the 25-year-old.
Zinchenko will join up with the Gunners after he was won over by former coach Mikel Arteta, who is promising more game time and the chance to feature in a central midfield role, which is highly desired by the Ukranian.
Romano went on to confirm that the expectation is Zinchenko could soon arrive with the Arsenal squad on Tuesday evening to complete parts one and two of his medical.
City are also out in the US on a pre-season tour, making arrangements for travel pretty easy to get this one over the line and there’s a desire for Zinchenko to play a part in Arsenal’s remaining games across the pond.
The report also revealed that Zinchenko was only convinced by the move due to the ability to link back up with Arteta, a coach he spent his early City days quite closely with.
Arsenal’s new boy Gabriel Jesus is also a close, personal friend of Zinchenko and it’s believed the signing of the Brazilian also contributed to Zinchenko swapping blue for red.
Personal terms on the deal were sorted within 24 hours and it’s now just a matter of time before a medical is completed, shortly followed by media duties and an official announcement.
Arsenal still have two games remaining of their US tour with Orlando City and Chelsea still to come before a final pre-season game against Sevilla back on home soil on 30th July.
