Arsenal are on the hunt for a new right sided forward and it’s sparking a whole host of potential targets popping up across social media.
However, in his latest attempt to make sense of the rumours, Fabrizio Romano has given an update on a player that has ‘been offered to Arsenal’.
The Spaniard still has one more year on his contract with Madrid but following another season in La Liga where he bagged 10 goals, Asensio is after a new challenge.
New signings are putting the pressure on Asensio’s place in the starting XI under Carlo Ancelotti and Romano has stated he’s already been offered to many clubs.
Those include Arsenal and Manchester United according to Romano, who has said that if no solution can be found then his agent will wait it out for a free transfer next year.
When expanding on the Arsenal links, Romano stated that there was nothing started between the Gunners and Asensio’s team just yet.
However, Asensio’s agent Jorge Mendes is well known by the club and a deal would be fairly easy to negotiate providing Real Madrid can decide on a selling fee.
Asensio is a proven winner having already bagged three Champions League titles and as many La Liga championships after becoming part of the furniture at Madrid.
He’s certainly a player that still has a lot to give at his age but at this moment in time it feels like a back-up option for Arteta and co who could look for a cheap solution.
With the club likely to be priced out of a move for Pedro Neto and many other targets on their list, a deal of around £30m could be enough to tempt Madrid to cash in.
