With just three days left in the window, the Gunners have been heavily rumoured to be searching for a new forward player following the loan of Nicolas Pepe to OGC Nice.

But in the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, we have been introduced to another name in Mykhaylo Mudryk, a player who Arsenal are interested in.

According to Romano, Mikel Arteta is keen on the player as he looks to find competent competition for Bukayo Saka on the right hand side of midfield.

The indication is that the interest is in the very early stages with Romano stating that Arsenal have explored the potential for a deal on the players side only.

Everton have submitted a verbal proposal of €30m but that’s been rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk, where Mudryk has a contract that runs until 2026.

So who is this Mudryk and why are Arsenal interested? Well, at 21 years of age he certainly fits the profile of an Arteta signing who still has a lot to learn.

The Ukranian picked up two goals and seven assists in the top flight, having also featured six times in the Champions League in a season where he really took off.

As Shakhtar’s number 10, Mudryk is slowly turning into one of their most important players for the future and any deal will be complicated to get over the line.

With time not on Arsenal’s side, it’ll be interesting to see how this develops with Romano stating that it will certainly be ‘one to watch’.
