Arsenal are eyeing a £16million January move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko said: “I have ambition. My goal is to play at the best clubs, playing the Champions League, win trophies, but today I am a Magpie and I am very happy.
Despite saying he was happy at Newcastle, Sissoko added that Arsenal were his favourite club as a kid:
“Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young and my idol was Patrick Vieira. I have always loved this club and I still love them.”
He clearly would like to move to Arsenal, but would Arsenal want him? The Mirror suggest Arsene Wenger is a fan of the player. He can play as a holding midfielder, but can also play anywhere across the midfield including the wing. Sissoko is strong in the tackle, and he would most likely be bought to play in the defensive midfield position at the Emirates. Another positive is he would be able to play in the Champions League.
Sissoko was highly rated as a youngster at Toulouse, and it is believed Arsenal scouted the player then.
