The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing James Milner on a free at the end of the season, according to The Telegraph.
Arsenal were interested in the 28 year old utility man when he was at Aston Villa. Since then he has played a part in the Man City squad that has won two Premier League titles. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and can be a very useful player to any squad.
It would be strange to see Manchester City not offer Milner an extension. Yes he is not the best player in the world, but he is certainly a very useful player to have in your squad. The concern for City is that they are probably concerned about handing him a long-term contract considering he turns 29 in January. The Arsenal squad are packed with players in their 30’s now though, so Wenger would have no hesitation in offering him a three-year deal.
Liverpool are also reportedly heavily interested in Milner and you can see why. He is unlikely to be a regularly at the Emirates, but with the ability to play across midfield and even at full back, Milner would be an upgrade on someone like Flamini.
