The Gunners are really ramping up their transfer activity this summer. Just yesterday we brought you the news of three deals worth £100million Arsenal were hoping to complete this week.
That was made up of moves for Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus and Lisandro Martinez. But now there is a new name on the list. Leeds and Brazil sensation, Raphinha.
Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a sensational move to sign Raphinha after Barcelona appeared to have pulled out of a deal, according to Goal in Brazil.
How good is Raphinha and where would he fit in at Arsenal?
There is of course a possibility that this news has been leaked by Raphinha’s agent in order to try and get Barcelona moving and stump up the cash that Leeds are demanding.
Valued at £40.5million on transfermarkt, Arsenal would probably have to stump up in excess of £50million to persuade Leeds to sell. It’s a lot of money to spend, but the club has lost Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang in the last few months, whilst Nicolas Pepe is expected to leave this summer. This attacking threat needs to be replaced and Raphinha, a ready-made Premier League player, capable of playing on the right, left or through the middle, would really help.
