Well, you have to admit, we were gifted both goals. The second one more so than the first one, as Alexis Sanchez still had a bit to do when he ran onto Wes Brown’s poor back-pass. For a defender of Wes Brown’s experience, a mistake of this calibre is surprising. Maybe the former Manchester United centre-back was still suffering after the 8-0 loss to Southampton last Saturday. Vito Mannone certainly looked like he was. The former Arsenal man definitely was lacking in confidence and looked shaky throughout the game. It’s testament to how poor Arsenal’s offensive display was that Mannone wasn’t worked often enough and his lack of form capitalised on.
