Player Ratings: Tottenham 1-0 Arsenal

Fresh Arsenal newsletter

Arsenal had the final stretch of their legs ahead of the Premier League opener against Brentford on Friday when they travelled to Tottenham in the Mind Series.

The first half was mixed with the Gunners and very reminiscent of the Arsenal side we saw last season. Dominating possession, but not taking their chances and also conceding some clear chances on the break. Despite both teams hitting the woodwork, the game was goalless at the break.

In the second half Spurs were the better team and Arsenal rang a number of changes as the half went on. With 10 minutes to go, Heung-Min Son lost substitute Mo Elneny in the box before firing in from close range.

Arsenal fans will be a bit concerned with their pre-season form, in particular their lack of goals from open play.
