£20m deal for striker on the cards, will delight Arsenal fans

Arsenal have lots to do this summer including trying to shift a lot of players out the door.

Brighton are looking to sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah in a £20million deal, according to The Sun

Arsenal are unlikely to stand in the players’ way, especially at that price point. Eddie has just one year remaining on his current contract, and after signing up Folarin Balogun to a new long term deal, it seems the Gunners will not be looking to extend Eddie’s deal.

With the risk of losing him for nothing in a year’s time, Arsenal will be hoping to attract cash buyers for Nketiah, and they know Brighton have cash in the bank after handing them £50million for Ben White.

Brighton were one of the best teams in the league at creating chances last season but they fell down when it came to converting their chances to goals. Eddie is of course known for his predatory instincts in and around the box and he would likely help Brighton in that respect.

According to the same report, Crystal Palace are also interested in Nketiah, but are reluctant to enter an auction for the record-breaking England youth team scorer.

Former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is now at the helm and could look for a favour from his former club as he looks to rebuild a young and refreshed Palace side.

The majority of Arsenal fans would be delighted if the club can recoup £20million for Eddie, especially given his contract situation. Fans will then hope that money goes towards a marquee signing, perhaps James Maddison?
