Odegaard starts, Martinelli out: How Arsenal are likely to line up vs. Slavia Prague

Arsenal face Slavia Prague on Thursday on what is a must win game for the club. The Gunners will be looking to advanced to the semi finals of the Europa League for the third time in four years.

Arteta will have to get it right in terms of team selection and tactics. With no clear best eleven currently, he has some big decisions to make.

Have a look how I think we could line up for the game below. Disagree? Create your Arsenal XI at the bottom of this article.

Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno
Leno was barely tested on Sunday but he will be thankful to have ended a long run without a clean sheet. Hopefully he can now return to some of his best form and make a real difference in this game.

Defenders: Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares
Arteta trialed Xhaka at left back on Sunday but its a riskier proposition in this tie. I think Cedric will come back into the team in that position, allowing Xhaka to return to his favoured central role. The key for Cedric is to have a left footer ahead of him on the wing. Mari has looked more assured and the better partner for Rob Holding in David Luiz absence.

Midfielders: Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Nicolas Pepe
It’s touch and go if Odegaard will be fit but I think Arteta will be desperate to get him back into the team in order to help Arsenal dominate the game. On the left it’s key to select a left footer to play ahead of the inverted Cedric. Last week Arteta chose Willian in that role and it did not work at all.

Forwards: Alexandre Lacazette
Aubameyang was out with ‘flu’ at the weekend and Lacazette took full advantage of his absence. I expect Lacazette to lead the line again. After missing a huge chance in the first leg, he will want to make amends.
