Perhaps more of an obstacle than a danger, but goalkeeper Jak Alnwick is probably someone you will have heard about in the weeks papers, after his heroics kept Chelsea at bay last weekend.

Officially places as the Newcastle third choice keeper, Alnwick was brought into the game when Tim Krul picked up an injury, with his first job handed to him being the one to stop Europe’s most attacking side so far this year.

At 21 years old, Alnwick will be nervous and will need to pray for a little bit of luck this weekend, but we can’t underestimate the man, seeing as our own third choice keeper, Emiliano Martinez, has managed to put together a string of impressive performances.

He is young, agile and not scared to try new things so that will come into play! The vulnerability of the goalkeeper will also mean the defence will tighten up, so they could be hard to break down.

Alnwick has recently been in the press this week with regards to a new contract extension, so will be looking to lay down a good display for manager Alan Pardew when he visits the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
