Newcastle’s 3 Biggest Threats To Arsenal In Tomorrow’s Clash

In a week where Arsenal secured qualification for the Champions League knockout stages, it was sadly overshadowed by the damning defeat to Stoke City last weekend.

The Gunners will be looking to latch back on to winning ways when they host Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, although it won’t come easy considering their on the back of beating high-flying Chelsea.

We’ve checked out the three main players who pose the biggest threat to us this weekend, and who you should be watching out for when it all kicks off!

A player that needs no introduction, Papiss Cisse has taken the Premier League by storm in the last two seasons, and is continuing his impressive form with 7 goals already to his name in the campaign.

A lot like our Ramsey this season, Cisse has struggled to find a steady run of form, with many of his goals coming from appearances off the bench. However, the Senegalese international has recently found himself raking in the goals, grabbing a brace in the surprise 2-1 victory over league leaders Chelsea last weekend.

His efforts last week will most likely earn him a call-up to the starting 11, and he will thrive on playing against an Arsenal defence who will have to look  a little different, seeing as both Callum Chambers and Laurent Koscielny are out for this one.

Cisse is never afraid to have a go at goal, no matter where he is on the edge of the box. That means Mertesacker will need to be on top form, especially covering the aerial threat Newcastle pose, because we know their style of play is to whip crosses into the box whenever they can. Their football isn’t pretty, and that plays into the hands of Cisse who works his socks off.
