Moreno is an Mexican central defender who has also played,as a Left-back, for his country and his early career at UNAM. Currently at Espanyol, Moreno has been a key part in their season, but lay 10th in La Liga, 4 points above the relegation zone. Receiving an offer from Arsenal must be enticing, and he might be licking his lips at the prospect. Arsenal have apparently had scouts noticed at the most recent Espanyol game (Where Real Madrid won 3-0), so maybe not the best game for Moreno to be scouted in. The media have linked us heavily with him and although not the greatest player, he would provide a good level of cover as a back-up.

Moreno recently came to light during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, and was part of Miguel Herrera’s 23 man squad, and earned a Man Of The Match during the group stage. Unfortunately, he was injured and missed the rest of the world cup after a collision with Arjen Robben. (He will be cheap as well, costing below £8million for an experienced squad member) For a player that can be a Left back also, it could provide cover over Monreal and Gibbs, to which at least one is usually injured and the other is completely ran out. He seems perfect on paper, but can he do it on a wet tuesday night in Stoke?
