He’s played just four games for Arsenal in the Premier League this season. Today was his first start of the season and he racked up 82 minutes towards his 112 minutes total playing time. Had fate been kinder Rosicky could have been a more consistent star for Arsenal. Unfortunately he’s been beset with injury woes almost from the time he was signed by Arsenal on 23 May 2006. Since the 2007/08 season Rosicky’s been “out” on injury for 709 days and has missed a total of 113 games. On his return today he started off the first ten minutes of the match playing fairly meek and mild (71% pass success rate) massively improved as the match progressed; by the time he was substituted in the 83rd minute he’d made 57 successful passes (83%). However, the main statistic I’m concerned with today is his 100% shot accuracy record. Yes! Freshly back from his latest injury and with the help of Alexis, Rosicky scored the winning goal for Arsenal – which also happened to be his first of this season. Maybe his next game will be his second start of the season and maybe, just maybe that will be enough for us to see his second goal of the season. Keep up the good work Tomas!
