2. Alexis Sánchez should leave the penalties to Santi Cazorla

Wasn’t it great to see Arsenal come out all guns blazing after our feeble performance against Liverpool? And who thought we’d been handed a goal on a plate in the eighth minute when Alexis Sánchez was brought down in the six yard box by Armand Traoré who, in case you didn’t know, happens to be a product of the Arsenal Academy? Yes it was, yes I did and no I didn’t are my respective answers. Chants of “Oh Santi Cazorla” immediately sprung to mind until I realised that Alexis was holding onto the ball and was determined to take the shot. We were also 1-0 up as far as I was concerned. Until I saw the ball leave Alexis’ foot and dribble into the waiting arms of Robert Green. And that was our chance of getting an early goal under our wings out the window. Maybe Alexis was worried Cazorla would do another “Newcastle” on us and was trying to save his pride. If so, it backfired. Nevertheless, Alexis was awarded Man of the Match. Despite his half-hearted attempt at that penalty he did score a (37th minute) goal and grab a (65th minute) assist. But next time Alexis, either let Cazorla take the penalty or blast that ball into the back of the net!
