As the season draws to a close, the gossip begins. We will be bringing you an Arsenal filtered gossip column throughout the summer. Today reports suggest Arsenal want Bony and Rabiot. See all the Arsenal transfer news in our Gossip Column.
Arsenal have joined the race for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony (Mirror). Not the first time we have been linked to Bony, but the link grows stronger now. He signed for £12million last summer and has managed 16 Premier League goals in a struggling Swansea side. Everton are also interested. I believe there are better options out there but if they can’t be signed, Bony wouldn’t be a bad signing.
Arsenal will be priced out of a transfer move for Angel di Maria after Real Madrid demanded £45million (Mirror). di Maria is a quality player and if Arsenal really want him maybe we should just pay the price. However if it was me, I wouldn’t pay such a figure. I wouldn’t go above £35million for him, especially when Pedro, Griezmann and Sanchez seem to be available for around the £20million mark.
Arsenal have made an official approach for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot after contract talks stalled (Fresh Arsenal). Due to his potential, any deal would seem positive. However at the expense of a player like Bender or Schneiderlin, the deal becomes less appealing. In an ideal World both players would be signed, with perhaps Rabiot going out on loan for a season.

Arsenal are lining up a £6million swoop for Marseille winger Dimitri Payet (HITC). We were linked to Payet a lot before he moved to Marseille and I think this is just a regurgitation of those old stories. I wouldn’t expect Arsenal to move for Payet, nor would I be happy if we actually did. He is not an improvement on our current crop and he plays in a position which, if we are going to strengthen, we need to buy better quality than what he is – despite some impressive stats. He is a new name to be linked so becomes the 46th different player to be linked to the Gunners.
Arsenal eye transfer of France U20 keeper Paul Nardi from Nancy (Mirror). And Nardi becomes the 47th. Arsenal will need to sign at least one keeper this summer with Fabianski and Viviano set to leave. The report says Nardi would cost £3.5m and is a decent youth prospect. If we signed someone like Nardi and then an experienced keeper on a free transfer, that could provide the perfect balance for a good trio of keepers.
