German Driving Force? The 3 Deals Arsenal Are Likely To Complete In January

3 – Carl Jenkinson – Arsenal to West Ham (loan)

A player that I really had high hopes for, who is now fourth choice in his own position (behind Gabriel who plays as a centre back for crying out loud).

I sympathise with Jenko because he’s never been given a chance to get a run of games, and when he does he’s replacing Hector Bellerin – massive shoes to fill.

The pressure on his shoulders is even stronger than his love for this club, and with that being said I honestly think he’s played his last game for the Gunners.

Nobody is going to start over a fully fit Bellerin, and with Gabriel and Holding a proven option at right-back there’s no need to keep him on hold ‘just in case’.

Having spent two seasons with the Hammers already, he and Wenger know it’s the right fit to see him through for the rest of the campaign, with first-team football not hard to come by.

He’s already been asked about by the likes of Hull City and Swansea, whilst Aston Villa are desperate to get someone with his desire at the club as they look to overcome a dreadful year in the Championship.

I don’t think there will be too many complaints with Wenger letting the youngster head out on loan, and if supporters continue to abuse him like they are then I really don’t blame him for jumping ship!
