5. Maxime Gonalons
Maxime Gonalons is probably the best bang for your buck option on this list. The French-international plays a very tidy game. His good technical ability allows him to be very efficient in his passing. He understands what’s expected of him and fills those shoes excellently. He breaks up play well, sometimes with grit, but has a certain guile about him. He is a natural defensive midfielder – pure and simple. The current Lyon midfielder would be a good plan B or C, in my opinion. Or, we could buy him while saving our money in order to splash the cash elsewhere. His market value is £11.5, which certainly doesn’t break the bank. I could see us getting him for around that amount while adding just as much quality to our midfield as a few of the other options on this list. Take a look at him here:
The bottom line is the five players I’ve put forth would be welcome additions. All are slightly different but all have the quality to play for Arsenal. It just depends on how big of a necessity a defensive midfielder is to you. So, how big is it? Who would you go for?
