5. David Ospina
Am I always going to be on this bench? Ospina will have a chance on Tuesday night to prove his first team credentials. When you arrive as a goalkeeper it is particularly hard to force your way into the first eleven. You don’t have chances as a substitute to impress and it is rare for a team to rotate their goalkeeper. With Szczesny taking a breather, Ospina looks certain to make his Arsenal debut on Tuesday night. He will be keen to impress and give Arsene Wenger something to think about with his team selection.
The likes of Francis Coquelin and Gedion Zelalem could also be handed their first starts of the season. I’d put them on the bench, along with Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere who were rested on Saturday, leading some to believe that the duo will be involved against Southampton. If they are involved, it is likely to only be from the bench – as Arsene Wenger once against prioritises the Premier League in Arsenal’s trophy hunt.
