Eight Alternatives If Arsenal Miss Out On £60m Raphinha Transfer

5 – Wilfried Zaha (Value: £50m)

No, it’s not 2019. But how could I mention eight different footballers and not include Wilfried Zaha in the mix of everything?

So what makes this different to three years ago I hear you say! Well, first of all I think we’re all agreed that the choice to go with Nicolas Pepe instead of Zaha has blown up in our face just a little bit.

Pepe has failed to establish himself as the signing we all thought we were getting and there is now talk of the 27-year-old lining up a bunch of clubs to go out on loan to.

But getting back to Zaha, he could fit the bill in terms of what Arteta is looking for. Premier League experience (check), goals and assists (check), keen to move to Arsenal (check).

At 29 years of age Zaha doesn’t have much left to prove but you kind’ve feel like he has one more shot of getting his big move to a top six club.

Crystal Palace would have a LOT to say about this deal though and that’s where the likelihood of it going ahead begins to fade. A big transfer fee would be required for them to lose their star man, and with age not on his side that could be a deal breaker for Edu.
